Services offered

Long or short term psychodynamic therapy.

My approach

Psychodynamic therapy makes links between problems being experienced now, and events that have happened in the past. It offers an opportunity to look at issues which may be causing concern, offering time and space to think and reflect, and to consider any wished-for changes.

In working together, we would explore links between your childhood and your present-day ways of relating to others. Being aware of these links then gives you the freedom to choose whether and how you might like to make any changes. I don’t give advice – rather, I listen without judging to help you see things more clearly, and then you can decide what you want to do.

We would start by meeting once or twice to think about whether therapy with me is what you’d like, and if it is appropriate then we’d agree when you’d like to come, for how long, etc.

I work with both young people and adults, sometimes for just a short while, sometimes for much longer.

I have many years’ experience in mental health services, both in the NHS and in local authorities. I’ve worked as a therapist in GP surgeries, in a community counselling service and in private practice.
